Advanced Main Battle Tanks of the 1980s

In the 1980s electronics and new technologies really came out in tank warfare such as night vision optics, laser rangefinders, Chobam armour, and new navigation equpment. Although most of the tanks from the later 1970s, and 1980s were designed to fight WWIII in Europe, most of the first wars for these machines was in the Middle East during the 1991 Gulf War.

This book was written during the Cold War, and discusses the possibility of a nuclear war between the United States and the Soviet Union, in which it was thought mechanized, and armored forces would battle each other on a Continent contaminated nuclear weapons. Although a nuclear war would take less than an hour to be over for the entire planet.
